If the term „handicraft wine” is to be used somewhere, it is at the Daru Déli Dűlő Wine Estate in Bácsszentgyörgy. The paternally Bunjevac Dragan Sümegi, and his wife, Monika, along with their kids, farm only on barely 2 hectares, yet they are recognized characters of the region’s (wine) cultural and tourist life. Their Bianka and Kékfrankos Rose wines won gold medals in international competitions too and in 2015, they won the award called “Best rose wine of Bács-Kiskun county’.
Their Kadarka from the year of 2015 – which is also the base of their wine chocolate – received the Premium award in 2016 and in 2018.
Gastronomy is inseparable from the winery: during wine tastings, wine dinners and regional events, they offer unique rose ice cream and Chardonnay custard cake which are based on their own recipes. They not only take tours into the world of special flavors, visitors can rely on them regarding to excursions in the area as well.
