The authentic press house and cellar of the Szemerey family, which is still in use and open to visitors, has been regularly stocked with sweet musts and fine wines since the 19th century and the wine science based on the Swabian tradition has been passed down through the generations in the family ever since. Recently, István Szemerey has injected a youthful and innovative mindset into this tradition: from 2014, he created the conditions of building a modern, controlled fermentation cellar next to the ancient press house. The high quality raw materials are provided by their own 21 hectares of vineyards. Feedbacks from guests attending their wine tastings and wine dinners as well as domestic and even international awards prove that they are heading in the right direction with the production of Hungarian and world varieties that are typical in the region, with flagship wines of Irsai Oliver and Generosa.
